District 4 teams participate in all CYSA programs.
We have four divisions representing all levels of skill including recreation and development, competitive and those with disabilities. Many of our teams participate in statewide tournaments and programs such as the State and Association Cup, the Olympic Development Program, and the State Playing League.
Most league play is recreational, and teams may participate in more than one league. Competitive teams play other leagues outside of District 4.
Recreational Division 4 At the recreational level, kids are able to play for fun while their basic skills grow. This is for those just starting out in the game, and for those who simply want to run around with their friends, recreational soccer is the perfect level. Soccer is probably the best sport available for children to play. It is easy to learn, it is active, it is exciting. Kids love to run around and kick a ball, and recreational soccer lets them do that. For those children who develop a proficiency and wish to learn more about the game, local leagues offer competitive soccer programs.
Competitive Division 1 & 3 A competitive division. This program is for the serious player seeking a higher level of play and training. The key is to develop the player’s individual, team and leadership skills, in a positive and constructive atmosphere. Coaches and trainers should encourages a love of the game translating into a solid work ethic that maximizes player development and performance. Teams are selected through an annual “tryout” process. Professional training and instruction are provided to competitive teams in some leagues and on an individual basis to a specific team.
